Narnian Wonder

After reading the Chronicles of Narnia a while ago I am still stuck on one question of the book; What happend to Susan? She was not at Narnia during the end of its time! She was one of the largest characters in the books and she does not make it to the end. How does that work? Can you know Narnia and go back on it? Is it possible that she is not out of the True Narnia only her time to go there will be later? This question is a thorn in my side! If you have any ideas or answers let me know.

The art of growing up

In recent months I have found out that I am not getting any older. Only the people I have come to know have changed. For example; I grew up knowing all my teachers as distant, superior, and genuinely much much more mature. Now I go to church and I fund myself chit chatting with them over a cup of coffee talking about the school year and about the new crop of 5th graders. What happend? I'm not different, I still don't like homework, I still play video games 24-7, I still like running around outside chasing girls and eating freezes. I still don't like wearing clothes or taking showers. The only conclusion I can make is that the people around me treat me older because I look a little different.

The only other thing that has changed is my new found love for Vino. gigidi gigidi.

I cant remmeber the last time I hade to right a paper for a real colledge class. Frankly I am scared! All these Dutch tests I coud have horribel grammer and speling, but back in the states I am gona be under some serius pressure. I dont know if i can preform to the leval that I need to be at. The only thing that will keap me sain is having good friends to help me out and chear me up. Soo all of you who reed this pleese suport me! Thanks.

The installation of Lucy's flask.

Time for change is at hand. One can perform with Bevreron snickers for only so long, thus Lucy's flask is born. Though other bloggers have already adapted (and no doubt coined) Narnian blogs, I finally have decided to walk into the wardrobe and join them.

However, It would be hard for me to say that they are my only inspiration for the change. Something happend to me two weeks ago at Sams club in Denver: I found the Chronicles in one large book, bought it and started to read (having only read the Lion, Witch, and the Wardrobe previously) Now I am through the fifth book and only take breaks from reading to work and eat. (yes, I know, I am a slow reader) The books that I am enjoying for the first time have expanded my Narnia and further driven me to create the new name.

Blog World Esco

Now that travels abroad have concluded, I have decided to travel inside the country. Actually, I traveled to a particular site: Escondido, CA. Upon arrival I immidiately met some of the blogger worlds finest bloggers whom I have been reading for quite some time now. During the first week of my visit Aaron, JT, Cooper, and I went to Lukes house and met up he and his roomate Bill. When I was introduced to Bill all I could muster up for a hello was a hand shake and a "umm I am a big fan of your Blog..and umm...its an honor to meet you". (I really am a big fan too) Later that week JT had a BBQ at his house where I bumped into Bruno. The next morning Cooper, JT, Aaron, and I went to Tijuana for a missions project where I mixed concrete Eric. The Project was a lot of fun and some good things happened that day (check Erics for more info) The next week was the first week of single adult Bible study where I met up with a fellow History Major at Dordt Donald. Then on sunday I ran into Aaron, Luke, Cooper, JT, Donald, Bill, and Eric. In conclusion Escondido is the blog headquarters of the US.

Italianos

The last hurrah....Italy. We waited all year for it, and it was definately worth the wait. With Coop Cooper on board nothing could beat this trip.

We started off in Venice: The winding canals and the horrible street directions kept us intertained for a good 2 1/2 days. We managed to find the palace of Venice as well as some other interesting things and people. The weather was beautiful for our entire stay and we enjoyed a very relaxing city with water all around us.

We then traveled to Florence: This city offered us plenty of things to do, like walk huge park, see David, check out an amazing cathedral and get a great view and feel for the city. We also had a stellar hostal which added to the prestige of the city (in my book).

Ahh, when in Rome: Rome was straight up rediculous. The city was apsolutly ginormous. The thousands of years of history fascinated the whole gang as we metro'ed around the city to see the main atractions like: The Colosseum, Arc of Constantine, Pizza Navona (where they had chariot races), The Panthoen, Trevi Fountain, and the Vatican. Romes blend of ancient history and crazy moped traffic combined with the amazing weather made it one of the best places to be in Europe.

Swiss

I can officially say I have been hiking in the alps! The only down side is that I had to take a bad grade for my missed history test. I guess..... you can't win them all. We reached the small city of Lucern on thurday and spent one day taking a ferry to the mountains and hiking and resting on them. We found ourselves straying off the path regularly and finding some pretty cool hiddin things, like an amazing area behind a waterfall. It was also pretty tight to see the familiar face of Jon Mouw on this trip as he began his continental European travel after already having been in London for a week. sorry I have to end here... I would write more, but I am leaving to italy for ten days in a half hour.

Bar-Cel-Ona

A real, real tight place to be - Barcelona. "slip off the shoes, tip my toes in the jacuzzi baby". I love Spain! First of all, I am fluent in spanish thanks to my two years of studying it at Unity. So, I was able to easily communicate with all of the people there. Second, the coastal city is Beautiful. The mark of the famous architect Gaudi gets my stamp of approval as well. The Sagrada Familia is one of his masterpieces. This "melted candle" (in the words of Aaron Faber) is like no other cathedral I have ever seen. We also walked through the park he designed: Parc Guell. The park has the longest park bench in the world. We also went to the the Beach where we played hacky sack. It was fun. Later in the weekend we walked to the palace of Barcelona and chilled at the park. North of the palace is the Olympic park where we saw the place where the olympic ceremonies were held, as well as the Olympic stadium. On saturday Aaron, John, and I went on the tour of Camp Nou, FC Barcelonas stadium. (one of the best teams in the world) This stadium was five star rated! The players seats were leather car seats with the FC Barcelona sign embroidered on them.
One of the highlights of my weekend was eating at a Mediterranean resteraunt by the beach! The Shrimp, crab, and other sea fish we ate were sick, but I just ate it and tried not tlook at it. I just want to say that I Love lawren sinnema....when the waiter asked what he wanted to drink Lawren said "water". The waiter responded by saying "auga"? Then Lawren responded by hastily saying "NO, WATER!" It was great. I love barcelona!

City of love

Paris, France. An amazing city with some amazingly open people.
First of all, as always, we saw all the famous sites in Paris such as: Notre Dame, The Pantheon, Luxemburg park, The Eiffel tower, Arc de Triomphe, and Sacre Couer. If this was not enough we took a day and went to Versaille to see the amazing Palace of Louis IX and former residence of Napoleon. Its breathtaking gardens keep us occupied for most of the afternoon and the inner decor including the hall of mirrors keep us very interested.
The people of Paris are more open than in any other city I have ever seen. Im pretty sure I saw at least 35 couples making out everywhere like the middle of the street, the subway, in the bakery, and anywhere in which a large number of people would see them. Needless to say I was rather disgusted with the whole situation. Other than those 70 people most of the other French people were very friendly and hospitible.
On Saturday night we dicided to splurge and go out for a nice (expensive) meal in the latin quarter. We ended up at a pretty upscale resturaunt for about 3 1/2 hours chatting and eating and drinking.
Amongst many random things on this trip we had an incident where we had wine but no cork screw and Aaron being the smart guy he is decided to push the cork through with a pen. This is the result. It still tasted good though.
